What Are Solidified Remains?

Solidified remains are cremated ashes transformed into a smooth, solid ceramic piece.
Instead of storing the ashes loosely in an urn, a smallh portion is used to create a handcrafted memorial through a ceramic glazing process.

Solidified Remains Process: Simple and Secure

We’ve made it easy for families to create a lasting tribute, step by step:

1. Choose a Style and Color

Select from our range of designs—like ornaments, vases, or luminarias—and complete your order online.

2. We Send You a Collection Kit

You’ll receive a cremation kit with instructions and a prepaid return mailer.

3. Send the Ashes Back

Use the prepaid mailer to return a small portion of the ashes to our studio.

4. We Craft Your Memorial

Once received, we begin crafting your piece.
Delivery takes 2–4 weeks from the time we receive the ashes.

How It’s Made: Behind the Scenes

Each piece is created by artists in a careful, hands-on process:

  1. Ash Collection
We respectfully set aside a small amount of ashes for use in the glaze.

  2. Hand Shaping
The chosen design is shaped by hand from clay.

  3. Ash Glaze Preparation
    Firing
The piece is kiln-fired at high temperatures. This seals the glaze and creates the unique color and pattern.

  4. Finishing Touches
Each memorial is checked for quality and carefully packaged for delivery.

No two pieces are the same. The result is personal, permanent, and one-of-a-kind.

  • Made to last a lifetime

  • 1. Rigor Mortis

    • Happens a few hours after death.
    • Muscles become stiff and rigid because chemical changes stop them from relaxing.
    • This is temporary and usually lasts 24–72 hours before the body relaxes again.

    2. Mummification

    • Occurs in dry, hot, or well-ventilated environments.
    • The body dries out and becomes leathery or “solid-like.”
    • Decomposition slows down because moisture (needed for decay) is gone.

    3. Adipocere

    • Forms in moist, low-oxygen environments (like wet soil or water).
    • Body fat turns into a waxy, soap-like solid substance.
    • Can preserve body shape for a long time.

    4. Skeletonization

    • After soft tissues decompose, only bones remain, which are solid.
    • This can take weeks to years, depending on conditions.

    Simple explanation:

“Solidified remains” usually refers to how the body either:

    • Stiffens temporarily (rigor mortis), or
    • Becomes preserved or hardened over time (mummification or adipocere), or
